Hello, my name is Freddie and because of Paula, I was able to set up my own candle business, Wuzakumba Candle Co.

When I first set out to start a candle business, I knew nothing about candle making. Initially I started with an online course, but I found the amount of information was overwhelming and a lot of it was completely irrelevant to what I wanted to do. I knew that I had to get hands-on experience. This is where I found Paula’s candle making course. Even before the course had started, Paula was already helping me via email. The course works with soy wax, but I had emailed Paula asking about a speciality wax, she gave me great advice and was more than accommodating in buying the wax and allowing me to try it out on the day of the course. 

The morning session of the course was spent talking through safety, regulations and candle safety testing. Often this can be overwhelming, but it was all set out very clearly and it was easily understandable. This information is necessary not only for businesses but for hobbyists too. We were given an incredibly useful information pack to follow, I still use mine to this day. Throughout the day, Paula answered every question asked with impeccable knowledge and clear experience. Not only was the course incredibly useful, it was also a great day meeting like minded people. 

Even after the course had finished, the learning did not stop. Paula has successfully created a community of candlemakers on her Facebook group, to which questions are answered and morals are always raised. Any emails with questions have been answered with great care. Paula also organised a community zoom call, this was incredibly helpful as we discussed regulation changes, business updates and answered any questions we had. 

I would recommend the course to anyone starting a candle business, it has really given me a strong foundation to be able to launch my business.
